New Office 2010...

What it means for you

We are fans of Office 2010 - it offers some poweful benefits over previous Office releases.

But some of the old names have gone and Office 2010 now comes in some new editions

A quick look at the new Office line up confirms that:-

(1) there are fewer products in the range, Microsoft refer to this as SKU's or Stock Keeping Unit. We think the simplification of SKU's is good and easier for the customer to understand. Also, there are more features in each SKU than in previous versions.

(2) Microsoft believe that many business will buy a PKC licence - that's a Product Key Card and simply means that you don't get any discs - your IT company can manage the licences for you. This is cheaper than a retail version.

(3) Microsoft have enhanced their volume marketing which offer an easier way of managing licences for medium and larger companies
